Plastic sabots in stock :
Sabots .30 cal x 100 = $15 x 1000 = $140
Bullet seating tool x 1 = $50 for loading Standard jacketed flat base .223 projectiles.
Slightly Rounded corners on the flat base is best.
Bullets that have been swaged formed, can have sharp cornered bases that will not seat properly.
Sabot rounds have very low resistance so chamber pressure is lower, as is wear and tear on old, soft barrels, tired springs, etc. Low pressure loads of Unique or ALLIANCE Red/Blue/Green Dot or Trail Boss make .30 cal reloads with .223 cal 40+ gr hollow points will feed and cycle in older magazine fed semi-autos like the C 96 broomhandle or M1 carbine.
Plastic Sabots for 50 cal comes w/.45 cal 290 gr Copper jacketed plastic tipped Spear point projectile.
$27 for box of 20
Plastic Sabots for 45 cal sabot only for .40 cal or .357 cal projectiles from 130 gr to 200 gr projectiles.
$12 for bag of 50
Projectiles in stock now :
.38 cal 158 gr TMJ copper plated soft lead core x 100 = $ 25

Pouring lead has been postponed, I have molds but location was nixed by a scornful better half.
so looking for new location to pour and the weather is closing on the repair season so must concentrate resources on building repairs.
Solutions seem in short supply best suggestion I have are below
Webley hollow back .455/265 gr should work in any thing chambered in .455 before 1904
try cap and ball revolver .456 225 gr slugs on top of about 18 gr of 3F H777
Martini Henry - .012" paper warped ( 2 warps w/zig-zag whites will do in a pinch) 45/70 - 400 to 450 gr .458 slugs will work in MK IV's or for unwrapped slugs , fill case to neck with powder charge + 50/50 cream of wheat/powder mix then fill only neck of shell with plastic shotgun buffer or Teflon based Puff-lon on top of powder - in MK I - VI's round ball of .457 dia MKI - MK III to .468 dia MK VI should work with only minimal if any leading. 99% to 104% compression load best.
US Government 50/70 .515/450 gr - carefully load .520 soft round ball on top of almost full cases of 2F rifle or 3F pistol H777 for slight powder compression then lube with lee bullet lube , air dry a day or 2. Don't worry about any lead slivers that shave off. If still hanging , peel shaving of by hand or trim/smooth with blade, have done this with .457 round ball in Webley .755 length .455 dia. cases behind 11 to 18 cc's of 3F H777 with large rifle primers by mistake. Pistol primers should give similar results. All fired fine with less residue than any modern powder I've used, all flew straight and true with little recoil.
